Configuring the Digital Outputs

9.5 Teach-in
The upper switching thresholds of the digital outputs can be taught independently of each other. A static teach-in
procedure is used with two teach points. The switching threshold results, after successful teaching, from the setting
of both teach points.
Teach-in
1.
Use [

] to confirm teach-in and start the teach-in
routine.
⇒ The screen then guides you through the teach-in
routine.
2. Align the sensor with the object and use [ ↵ ] to
confirm.
⇒
Teach point 1 (TP1) is learned.
3. Remove the object from the detection range and use
[
↵
] to confirm.
⇒
Teach point 2 (TP2) is learned.
Note
TP2 (background) must be at least 1% of the detection range less than TP1 (object).
The upper switching threshold is set between the object
(TP1) and the background (TP2). The lower switching
threshold is set by 1% of the detection range below the
upper switching threshold.
If the switching thresholds are not within the detection
range or TP2 (background) is not less by 1% than TP1
(object), the teach-in procedure is ended with an error
indication and the old switching thresholds remain in
effect.
4. Check the taught switching thresholds and confirm with [ ↵ ] .
⇒ The switching thresholds are now saved and in effect.
