cord or plug is necessary, do not connect the equipment-grounding conductor to a live
terminal.

Check with a qualified electrician or service personnel if the grounding instructions are not
completely understood, or if in doubt as to whether the tool is properly grounded.

Repair or replace damaged or worn cord immediately.
Extension Cord Safety
Extension cord should be in good condition and meet the minimum wire gauge requirements
listed below:

WIRE GAUGE
An undersized cord decreases line voltage, causing loss of power and overheating. All cords
should use a ground wire and plug pin. Replace any damaged cords immediately.
TEST RUNNING
The test run can be initiated once the assembly and hookup has been completed. For the test
run, verify that the motor powers up and runs correctly. Also check that the spindle direction
switch is operating correctly. If any vibrations are noticed or you hear any unusual noises, stop
the machine immediately and consult the Troubleshooting section of this manual, or if needed
contact the service department at Baileigh Industrial.
