4. The two adjusting bolts shown in (fig. 23) are used to stop the saw bow at both 0° and 45° as
indicated on the scale.
5. Make sure the jam nuts are tight.
Adjusting Automatic Shut-off
The saw should stop after the cut has been made. This adjustment
is completed by adjusting both the down travel bolt (U) and limit
switch activation bolt (T).
1. First, adjust the stop bolt for the down travel. Adjust the bolt (U)
to stop the downward travel of the saw bow to a position that
just cuts through the material but does not cut into the vise
table.
2. When adjusted, hold the bolt in position and tighten the nut to
the bracket to hold the bolt in place.
3. If the saw completes the cut and continues to run, adjust
the stop bolt (T) out.
4. If the saw shuts off before the cut is complete, adjust the
stop bolt (T) in.
5. When adjusted, hold the bolt in position and tighten the
nut to the bracket to hold the bolt in place.
6. Balance the adjustment between the two stop bolts so
the motor cuts off as soon as the cut has been
completed.
Note: The limits switch is a normally closed switch. It stops the motor from running
when pushed in. It allows the motor to run when released. If the switch is dirty or sticky from
coolant or metal chips it may stick open and prevent the motor from running. Clean as needed.
