5. Lift both arms away from lock offs (Fig. 23a).
6. Route vehicle lap belt through the rear facing
safety belt path (Fig. 23b).
NOTE: Remove any twist in webbing to
ensure the webbing lies flat for securing the
restraint to the vehicle.
7. Put weight in seat with hand to compress the
automobile seat cushion then insert the seat
buckle tongue into the buckle and pull vehicle
lap/shoulder belt tight as possible (Fig. 23c).
Pull up on buckle as to ensure the buckle is
secure.
8. Press both arms into place and hold
(Fig. 23d).
9. Rotate both Rear Facing Lock Off to the
locked position. Ensure the rear facing lock
offs snap into position (Fig. 23e).
10. Lower flap and secure hook and loop
fasteners and all snaps (Fig. 24a).
11. Ensure the rear facing angle indicator
bubble is located between the boundary
lines (Fig. 24b).
12. Check for movement of the restraint at the
safety belt path. The restraint should not
move more than 1 inch in any direction. If
the restraint moves more than 1 inch, repeat
all steps until all safety steps are met.
