3.  Raise or lower to the appropriate position.

Removable Headrest Use Requirements 
Weight is 22 lbs (9.98 kg) or less.
Height is 28 inches (71.12 cm) or less.

4. Removable Headrest Positions Facing 

Direction 

  Rear Facing: Positions 1 and 2. 

NOTE: Only use in a rear facing position.
NEVER use in a forward facing position.

5. Remove Headrest: Place shoulder adjuster 

in position 1 or 2. Press down on both 
release tabs. Press release tabs through the 
opening (Fig. 44a). Store removable headrest 
in secure location, NOT the automobile 
occupant space. 

6. Install Headrest: Place shoulder adjuster in 

position 1 or 2. Insert headrest tabs into T-slot 
on shoulder adjuster (Fig. 44b). Press locking 
tabs in to the locked position (Fig. 44c). 

NOTE: Pull on headrest to ensure the 
headrest is locked into position.

6. Pull on the harness tension adjuster to 

tighten harness straps (Fig. 43a). The strap 
should not allow any slack. The strap should 
not press on to the child’s skin or push the 
child’s body into an unnatural position. 
 
To Loosen Harness System Tension, push the 
harness tension adjuster button underneath 
the fabric (Fig. 43b) and gently pull on the 
harness straps over the child’s shoulder.

5.11   Shoulder Height Adjustment

1. Shoulder Height Positions Facing Direction 

 
Rear Facing: Positions 1, 2 and 3.  
Forward Facing: Positions 3 and 4. 

Note: Forward facing occupants weighing 
more than 32 lbs (14.5 kg) or 35 inches  
(88.9 cm) MUST use height position 4.
