Troubleshooting (Cont.)

Stitch Unbalanced:

1. Is the machine threaded correctly?
2. Is the proper presser foot on the machine?
3. Is the correct needle inserted and threaded?
4. Is the thread in the tensions?
5. Are the needle threads set in the threading paths correctly?
6. Is the tension dial set correctly for the chain looper?
7. Is the needle thread fine-tuning dial set correctly?

Needle threading difficulties:

1. Is the needle threader selector at the appropriate setting? ("C-1" for left needle, "C-2" for center

needle, "C-3" for right needle.)

2. Is the machine engaged in the serging position?
3. Is the needle threading lever down completely?
4. Is the needle bent or worn?
5. Is the needle inserted correctly?

Looper Threading Difficulties:

1. Is the thread end in the threading port correctly?
2. Is at least 1 inch (2.5cm) of the thread end in the threading port?
3. Is there at least 22 inches (55cm) of loose thread beyond the thread guide above the threading

port?

4. Is there a kink or twist in the 22 inches (55cm) of thread to restrict the flow into the threading port?
5. Is the thread caught to prevent going through the chain looper?
