Reattach.
Thread is getting tangled.
Re-thread machine.
Clean bobbin case and under
needle plate. Oil the machine.
Needle is bent, or tip is
dull.
Change needle.
Thread Gets
Tangled on Wrong
Side of Fabric
Upper threading is not
threaded correctly.
Re-thread machine
properly.
Bobbin case may be scratched.
Remove needle plate and
check bobbin case.
If you still cannot find the problem, please take your sewing machine into your nearest authorized Baby Lock retailer for repair.
Upper thread tension is
too low.
Increase tension.

When the Safety Device is Operating
If a problem persists even after performing the measures in “Sewing Machine Doesn’t Run” in “Trouble Shooting”,
the machine’s safety device may be operating.
Symptom Cause/solution
The machine does not operate.
The indicator lamp blinked for a few seconds.
The machine is locked because the thread is tangled, etc. Turn off the power,
remove the tangled thread, and clean the machine. (page 25)
The machine stopped and will not operate.
The indicator lamp continuously blinks slowly.
Foot controller replacement or machine repair is required. Contact your Baby
Lock retailer.

The machine will not operate for approximately 1 second immediately after the power is turned on or after
the foot controller pin jack is inserted or removed.
