catheterization.

Instructions for use

Wash your hands very carefully before and after catheterization, and wash the genitourinary area.

Preparation

1. Remove the protective sheath from the connector. There are two ways:
a – If you have good dexterity, grip and tear off the film at mark “2” level.
b – If you have reduced dexterity, with one hand, insert thumb in the eyelet and with the other hand, hold the catheter at mark “2”

level. Draw the eyelet downwards and remove the protective sheath from the connector.

2. Release the tip of catheter:
• «No touch» system:
a – If you have good dexterity, grip and tear off the sheath between the thumb and the fore-finger at mark "A".
b – If you have reduced dexterity, with one hand, insert thumb in the eyelet and with the other hand, hold the catheter at mark "A".
Draw the eyelet downwards and remove the protective sheath from the tip.
Fold up the sheath into accordion folds without touching the catheter.

• If you want to release more of the catheter:
- Catheter version 45 cm: Grip and tear off the raised tongue identified by the mark "B" to release 1/3 of the catheter

Grip and tear off the raised tongue identified by the mark "C" to release the full catheter

- Catheter version 20 cm: Grip and tear off the raised tongue identified by the mark "B" to release the full catheter

Catheterization:

Actreen® Lite can be connected to a urine collection bag like Urimed® Bag from B.Braun.

Male:
With one hand hold the penis upwards to decrease curvature of the urethra. With the other hand carefully introduce the catheter
into the urethra until it reaches the bladder and the urine drains.

Tiemann catheter: In order to correctly guide the catheter,

please align the mark on the connector appropriately.

Female:
With one hand spread the greater lips of the vagina to locate the urethral opening. With the other hand carefully introduce the
catheter into the urethra until it reaches the bladder and the urine drains.
Manual pressure on the lower abdomen towards the end of catheterization will ensure that the bladder has been completely
emptied. When the bladder is completely empty, gently withdraw the catheter after having clamping it at connector level.
The catheter is then discarded according to the current local regulations.
