8.13 Troubleshooting

When you have problem with fax communication, please refer to the following.

These error codes are temporarily unavailable. The temporary

xxx code

is only for draft

version of user manual.

Can not send Fax

As default, TX report is printed when fax transmission fails. Check TX report’s result

column which ash 3 digits error code.

Error Code: xxx

No Dial Tone detected

Press Hook key to confirm whether you can hear the dial tone or not.

If you can not hear the dial tone, telephone Line cord is not correctly connected.

There are two connectors, one for external telephone and one for telephone line.

Connector indicated as LINE should be correctly connected to telephone line.

Error Code xxx:

No Answer

This code indicates that fax signal is not received after dialing.

Confirm that remote fax number is correct.

If number is correct, then try to extend “Connect time” in Fax maintenance menu.

Error Code xxx:

Fax Transmission Error

This code indicates that fax transmission was started but could not completed correctly.

First try to resend the error pages again. Sometimes telephone line quality becomes bad

and resend works fine.

If this problem happens frequently, you may need to adjust setting in Fax maintenance.
