5.3 Crosscheck Monitor
Figure 18. Crosscheck Monitor
The Entegra EXP5000 comes equipped with a self-check monitor.
When this monitor detects a condition that does not warrant removal
of data, a CROSSCHECK ATTITUDE warning message displays.
When this message is displayed, scan all backup instruments and
auxiliary instruments (backup attitude indicator, backup airspeed
indicator, and back up altimeter) to crosscheck the aircraft attitude.
The warning message is automatically removed when the self-check
monitor confirms the EXP5000 attitude is valid.
The message will not display when air data is invalid (as shown on
page 44). Cross referencing the EXP5000 attitude to the backup ADI
is recommended during flight with invalid air data.
!
If a CROSSCHECK ATTITUDE alert displays on the PFD,
Avidyne strongly recommends using Autopilot (not HDG
mode).
Note
: Highly dynamic maneuvering such as multiple linked lazy-8 leaves
may result in small pitch and/or bank errors. If the errors build up to an
excessive amount, the crosscheck attitude message may display.
