User operating instructions
The safety thermostat can be triggered
when the boiler overheats.
This can be solved fi rst of all by lowering
the working thermostat. (see previous
point).
If the safety device of the boiler continues to trigger, do
not try to restore operation of the boiler on your own.
Contact an Authorised Assistance Centre.
6.2 - CHECKS BEFORE COMMISSIONING
Before commissioning the appliance, the following
should be checked:
- Make sure that the gas shut-off tap upstream of
the boiler is open (back-up boiler with gas-fuelled
burner).
- Make sure that the shut-off valves for maintenance
on the fl ow and return pipes of the system are open.
- Check the connection of the safety valves to the
sewer system.
- Make sure the boiler is powered electrically; the main
switch pos. 11 on the panel board must be on when
placed on .
- Check the water pressure on the boiler pressure
gauge (see "heating system pressure"); for best op-
eration, the pressure should be between 1 and 1.2
bar (with pump stopped).
- Make sure that the fan always runs at maximum
speed when the loading door opens.
- Make sure the by-pass is operating correctly when
the door opens, and check correct operation and seal
with “the door closed” pushing the pin that protrudes
from the front plate on the boiler.
The by-pass is normally closed when the loading
door is closed.
Opening the loading door causes the fan to start up
automatically. In this way the smoke accumulated
in the wood storage is suctioned and sent to the
chimney directly.
The bypass, in conclusion, allows the smoke to be
discharged to the chimney without escaping from
the loading door when loading the wood or during
lighting.
Complete decommissioning
When the system is put completely out of service, hot
water production is fully deactivated.
When put completely out of service, disconnect power
to the boiler by opening the contact on the bipolar
switch upstream the boiler and fl icking the switch “11”
to
0
: the indicator light will switch off.
Close the cold water and gas shut-off tap (the back-up
boiler with gas-fuelled burner).
ATTENTION!
The heating system can be effectively protected against
ice by using specifi c antifreeze products suitable for
multi-metal plants.
Do not use car engine antifreeze as it could damage
the water gaskets.
Heating system pressure
For systems with open expansion vessel, pressure does
not need to be restored as it is done automatically by
the level switch placed inside the vessel.
For systems with closed expansion vessel (
see local
regulations as to where installation is allowed
),
the pressure must be restored from the water mains
connecting tap “
when the boiler is cold
”, to 1.2 / 1.3 bar.
When this pressure has been reached, value checked
through the pressure gauge installed on the system,
shut the tap.
