The BCT-
460DTNA will
now do the initial
test of the starter
pack. It will then
ask you to repeat
the test on the
auxiliary pack if
the vehicle has
one. If this is the
final test of either
the starter pack
or auxiliary pack,
the unit will show
the test results.
This screen shows
the results of the final
Battery Pack test.
After the final starter pack
test, if the vehicle has an
auxiliary Battery Pack, the
user will be instructed to
disassemble the pack and
test batteries individually.
If the vehicle does not have
an auxiliary pack or when
the auxiliary pack final test
is complete then the user
can proceed to the next test.
NOTE:
If this is the first pass or if a starter repair was needed then the
unit will go to the starter test. If the starter passed but an
alternator repair was needed, then the unit will proceed to the
alternator test.
NOTE:
The BCT-460DTNA will do the starter pack test first and then the
auxiliary pack.
If the vehicle
has an auxiliary
Battery Pack,
after the auxiliary
Battery Pack’s
initial test, the user
will be instructed
to disassemble
the starter pack
and test batteries
individually. If the
vehicle does not
have an auxiliary
pack this step is
done after the
starter packs initial
test.
Between
batteries
this screen
will prompt
you for each
battery.
Between the initial battery bank test and final battery bank test the tester
will prompt you to test each battery individually. See manual pages 23-25
for steps involved in testing individual batteries.
There will also
be a visual
inspection
prompt allowing
you to denote
any batteries
that are too
damaged to
test.
Once the individual
battery test is
completed, the user
will reassemble the
pack and enter the
number of batteries
replaced in the pack.
The unit will then
instruct the user to
repeat the Battery
Pack test from the
point of the hookup
diagram.
