Troubleshooting POST BIOS Beep codes

Number of Beeps

Description

, 2 or 3

Reseat the memory, or replace wth known good

modules.

4-7, 9-

Fatal error ndcatng a serous problem wth the

system. Consult your system manufacturer. Before

declarng the motherboard beyond all hope, elmnate

the possblty of nterference by a malfunctonng

add-n card. Remove all expanson cards except the

vdeo adapter.

• If beep codes are generated when all other expanson

cards are absent, consult your system manufacturer’s

techncal support.

• If beep codes are not generated when all other

expanson cards are absent, one of the add-n cards

s causng the malfuncton. Insert the cards back nto

the system one at a tme untl the problem

If the system vdeo adapter s an add-n card,

replace or reset the vdeo adapter. If the vdeo

adapter s an ntegrated part of the system board,

the board may be faulty.
