Mirror Port
In order to help the network administrator keeps track of network activities, the managed switch supports port
mirroring, which allows incoming and/or outgoing traffic to be monitored by a single port that is defined as a
mirror
port.
Note that the mirrored network traffic can be analyzed by a network analyzer or a sniffer for network
performance or security monitoring purposes. Figure 2.31 shows the Mirror Port webpage. The descriptions of port
mirroring options are summarized in Table 2.7.
