Place the diaphragm clamp over the top of the main spring (14) carefully to avoid pushing the
spring and spring carrier out of position on the center of the diaphragm. Tighten the clamp
down by hand as far as possible.
Use the pin spanner wrench to tighten the diaphragm clamping the rest of the way down.
Tighten to 25-30 ft/lb (34-40 Nm) torque. This is essential to ensure that the diaphragm is
securely clamped. Use a soft material as a cushion under the spanner to prevent marks from
being made on the diaphragm clamp.
