Security Mode
The Security Mode page allows you to configure the VM1616T’s password-
related settings.
Password Settings
To configure the VM1616T’s password settings, do the following:
1. Use the Menu button to access the Security Mode page.
2. To set the VM1616T to require a password for local operation, select
Password Required , and use the Out dial and turn it clockwise/
counterclockwise to select Yes or No.
3. To change the password, use the In dial and turn it clockwise (ascending
from 0, 1, 2 .... 9) or counterclockwise (descending from 0, 9, 8.... 1) to
select the numbers.
4. Enter the old password (see Enter Password , page 17). Then, press In/Out/
Enter to move the cursor down to New Password , and enter the new
password in the same way.
5. Press and release In/Out/Enter to confirm the password and continue to the
Main menu.
Note: 1. If you enter an incorrect password, re-enter the correct password
over the incorrect string.
2. If Password Required (see Security Mode , page 28) is enabled,
the timeout is 5 minutes.
