Troubleshooting
Error/display Cause Remedy
ERR1 Heating element
has overheated,
dry measurement Immerse the sensor head correctly in sample
fluid
Switch the device off and on again
Press the “Start” button
ERR2 Measured
temperature >
300 °C. Boil-
ing point of
the measured
sample is above
300 °C Only measure glycol-based brake fluids
Clean the sensor head by carrying out at least
three measuring processes with clean brake
fluid
Use a new sample beaker for each measure-
ment
ERR3 Internal tem-
perature of the
device > 50 °C.
Measurements
not possible Switch the device off and leave it to cool
Do not place the device on heaters or in
sunlight
If the error occurs repeatedly, send in the
device for inspection
ERR4 Sensor head
is missing or
defective Install or replace the sensor head
ERR5 Safety controller
has switched off Switch the device off and then switch it on
again after 5 seconds
If the error occurs repeatedly, send in the
device for inspection
ERR6 Temperature sen-
sor defective Send in the device for repair
