Remove the 2 screws that fasten the pump. Extract the pump from its seat by making it slide towards left.
Then pull out the aspiration sleeve (the elbow sleeve). To help do this rotate the pump and put it in a
diagonal position and then extract it by pulling it towards yourself.
6.5.2
Cleaning the pump (releasing the pump)
Remove the pump from the machine.
Remove the metal cap by prying on its ends using two screwdrivers. Check if no dirt blocks the cooling fan.
If there is, then clean everything thoroughly.
Remove the casing from the impeller (located on the side opposite the metal cap) by unscrewing its nine
fastening screws. Clean the inside of the scroll.
Reclose the casing and tighten the screws well, being sure to properly position the seal.
Reinstall the metal cap, being careful not to damage the electric wires. Fit it all the way in by hitting/pushing
it with a rubber mallet.
Reinstall the pump in its proper working position.
6.5.3
Stuffing
Remove the pump from the machine.
Remove the plastic casing (unscrewing its nine screws) and unscrew the nut that clamps the impeller to the
shaft. Pull out the impeller (see: replacing the impeller); remove the metal cap from the fan on the opposite
end, remove the four tie-rods, pull out the pump's clamp ring using a screwdriver and then, using one or
more screwdrivers, extract the cooling fan; remove the casing from the cooling fan side (steel casing that
encloses the pump body) using two screwdrivers; pull out the casing located on the opposite side. Be careful
of the washer and seals that are contained inside.
Rotor-shaft unit: unscrew the three screws inside the casing on the impeller side. Use one or more
screwdrivers to remove the pump's plastic cover fastened to the shaft.
Remove the stuffing and replace it with a new one, inserting the seal with the rubberized part resting on the
seat and the hard part facing outside. The stuffing must have the spring facing towards the external side and
must be pressed until it completely rests against its seat.
Reinstall the steel casings, paying attention to the inner seals. Set the pump on a horizontal surface and
reinstall the tie rods, tightening them two at a time in a criss-cross pattern (for example: 1
st
and 3
rd
, then 2
nd
and 4
th
). Do not tighten too much. Insert the casings in their positions, insert the impeller and tighten the
nut. Fasten the impeller's cover by strongly tightening its 9 screws. Be carefully to correctly insert the seal.
Fasten the side cap (fan side) using a rubber mallet.
6.5.4
Replacing the impeller
Remove the casing from the impeller by loosening its nine fastening screws.
Unscrew the impeller lock nut by turning it clockwise. Clamp the shaft with a big straight-edge screwdriver
inserted in the fan. Replace the impeller with a new one, screwing it on counter-clockwise. Do not screw on
too tight.
Now install all the components previously removed to permit replacement.
6.5.5
Installing the pump on the machine
Insert the aspiration sleeve (elbow) into the pump and into the storage tank. Insert the pump delivery sleeve
and insert the pump into its housing inside the machine. Insert the header (distributor) onto its bracket (this
had been removed to facilitate maintenance procedures). Tighten the sleeve clips, fasten the pump at its base
(remember to insert the ground cable eyelet into its fastening screw), restore electrical connections and put
the protective cover back in (black casing).
6.5.6 ACS pump (Air Cooling System)
The pump is located at the bottom right of the upper compartment, generally together with the ETS solenoid
valve.
Cut off electrical power to the appliance using the service switch located in its upper compartment. Turn off
the main switch of the external power supply mains.
