Pump Filter Installation and Replacement
The pump fi lter is installed in the fl ow control block. Refer to the fi gure below for installation and
replacement of the fi lter element.
1. Bring the melt unit to operating temperature.
2. Switch o
ff the pump motor.
3. Actuate the applicator several times to relieve all pressure in the system.
4. Place a disposable container below the
fi lter access area to catch all the adhesive spillage or
run o ff .
5. Slowly remove the cap [1], fi tting [2] and o-ring [3] to release any residual pressure trapped
in the fl ow control block [5].
6. Remove the fi lter [4]. It is recommended that the fi lter be replaced and not cleaned for
reuse.
7. Carefully switch the pump motor on for approximately 1 - 2 seconds to cause a small
amount of adhesive to fl ush the fi lter chamber. Clean the fi lter chamber of all foreign
material. Repeat if necessary.
8. Insert the new fi lter [4] into the fl ow control block [5].
9. Inspect the o-ring [3], and replace it if it is damaged.
10. Install the
fi tting [2], o-ring [3] and cap [1] securely into the fl ow control block [5]

WARNING:
Contents at high temperature and pressure. Remove
pressure before opening
fi lter or drain valve to prevent
accidental discharge of system pressure. Do not touch hot
surfaces. Failure to follow these instructions may result in
severe burns.
