SECTION 5 – Troubleshooting Guide
The following troubleshooting guides are provided to assist you in solving any problems that might occur
with the AstroJet M1 Printer. We have tried to make them as complete as possible. The best advice we can
offer is to make sure that the system is set up properly, plugged in, and that it has an adequate supply of ink
before attempting to troubleshoot any problem.
The Memjet Printhead
CONDITION
PROBLEM
SOLUTION
Missing parts of letters or
text.
Air and bubbles blocking nozzles.
Clean the Printhead using
recirculation, priming or
cycles of depriming and
priming found in the
Maintenance section of the
driver.
Rehydrate the Printhead
using distilled water and a
wet, clean, lint-free cloth.
Bubbles often disappear with
printer use.
Print shows regularly
missing or misdirected
nozzles or ink color mixing.
Debris on Printhead.
Perform the startup routine.
Clean the Printhead using
one of the Maintenance
Levels in the driver.
Wipe the Printhead manually
with distilled water and a
wet, clean, lint-free cloth.
Replace the Printhead.
Ink mixing -- Mixed or
muddy colors.
Causes:
Ink flooding, air in the
Printhead or a dirty Printhead.
Clean the Printhead using
one of the Maintenance
Levels in the driver.
Wipe the Printhead manually
with distilled water and a
wet, clean, lint-free cloth.
No print or crisp blocks of
missing drops.
Electrical failure or poor electrical
connection.
Reseat the Printhead.
Replace the Printhead.
System will not reprime ink
after replacing Printhead
Cartridge
Printhead nozzles dry.
Ink Tanks may be 1/3 full or less.
Wipe the Printhead manually
with distilled water and a
wet, clean, lint-free cloth.
Replace Ink Tanks.
WARNING
DO NOT REMOVE THE SIDE COVERS OF THE PRINTER!
THERE ARE HIGH VOLTAGES PRESENT BEHIND THE COVERS!
