8.2.3.1 Out-of-Band Interface
The IP addresses of the shelf manager out-of-band interface (labeled MGMT ETH) is created
from the information in the first shelf manager IP connection record. It must be different for
different shelves. Therefore, the shelf geographical address is used as third octet of the IP
address. The same address scheme is used for all netmasks found in the first IP connection
record. All addresses assigned to the out-of-band interface are in the same network.
