EasyCup
The alternative feeding method
The EasyCup can be used by specialists and parents as an alternative feeding method to
breast-feeding. It is used for example for babies who have problems with sucking and
latching-on in the first few days, or for children with a cleft lip and palate and for weak,
sick or prematurely-born children. As far as possible breast milk is always administered. The
baby will drink best if it is in a sprightly and inquisitive mood.
Caution
The risk of aspiration exists if the liquid is poured directly into the mouth of the baby.
Application
1.) Sit down in an upright position, comfortably and relaxed.
2.) Fill the EasyCup if possible, at least up to half-full. Put a cloth under the baby’s chin.
Restless babies can be wrapped up in a towel.
3.)
It is imperative
to hold the baby
in an upright sitting position
on your lap, so
that you and the baby feel comfortable.
4.) Place the lower rim of the EasyCup gently against the lower lip of the baby. Do not
exert any pressure on the lower lip.
5.) Tip the beaker so that the milk touches the baby’s lower lip.
NEVER
pour the milk
directly into the mouth
.
6.) If the baby takes a break in drinking, leave the EasyCup touching the lower lip.
7.) If feeding is finished, allow the baby to belch.
Cleaning
1.) Cleaning in the clinic: Sterilisation at 121°C = 20 Min. / 134°C = 5 Min.
2.) At home: Prior to initial use and once daily boil out for 10 minutes or put in the dish-
