1.8.1 DVI-I/DVI-D Video Outputs
FPC-7200 is equipped with two video outputs—one DVI-I and one DVI-D. DVI
is a popular form of video interface technology made to maximize the quality
of flat panel LCD monitors and modern video graphics cards. DVI-D cables
are used for direct digital connections between source video (namely, video
cards) and LCD monitors. This provides a faster, higher-quality image than
with analog, due to the nature of the digital format. DVI-I cables are integrated
cables which are capable of transmitting either a digital-to-digital signal or an
analog-to-analog signal. This makes it a more versatile cable, being usable in
either digital or analog situations.
1.8.2 Serial Ports (COM1 ~4)
FPC-7200 is built with an integrated serial port that combines COM1 ~
COM4 into a D-sub 9 female connector. Each port supports RS-232; in
addition, COM3, 4 support selectable RS-232/485. RS-485 has auto-flow
function.
To connect any serial device, follow the steps below:
1. Turn off the BOX PC system and the serial devices.
2. Attach the interface cable of the serial device to the serial connector.
Be sure to fasten the retaining screws.
3. Turn on the computer and the attached serial devices.
4. Refer to the serial device's manual for instructions about how to configure
the operation environment for recognizing the new attached devices.
5. If the serial device needs specified IRQ or address, you may need to run
the CMOS setup to change the hardware device setup.
