paying special attention to the float mechanism.
7.1.2 Cleaning The Power Unit
If the power unit should require cleaning, follow the same guidelines as for the RBS
TRITON™ skimmer head, taking care not to direct pressurized water towards sensitive
areas.
7.1.3 Cleaning The Hose Sets
Pump fresh water through the transfer hose. Use detergent if badly soiled. Pressure wash
the outside of the hose.
Replace the dust caps and plugs on the hydraulic hose set BEFORE cleaning. Make sure
no debris, especially sand, is in the connector before capping. Clean the outside of the
hose bundle with a pressure washer, using detergent if badly soiled. Pressure wash the
inside ends of the hose bundle to remove any oil that has seeped in. If the inside is not
cleaned, oil may seep out during storage.
7.2
INSPECTION
The RBS RBS
TRITON™ 35 skimmer unit will require routine maintenance after each
use. If the unit is in continuous use over a long period of time, the following guideline
should be used.
7.2.1 RBS
TRITON™35 Skimmer Head
Inspect all body parts for cracks or damage.
Inspect all hydraulic lines and quick connect fittings for dirt or leaks. Clean, tighten or
replace as required.
Inspect for loose or missing motor mount or bearing mount bolts. Tighten or replace as
needed.
The brush shaft bearings are self-lubricating and require no maintenance.
Inspect brushes/drums for damage. Replace as required using spare parts found in the
repair kit.
Inspect scrapers for cracks, damage, and distortion. Repair as required using spare parts
found in the repair kit.
7.2.2 Pump Unit
To prolong the life of the transfer pump, drain all water from the pump, and run some
clean lightweight oil through it before storing.
Make sure diaphragm is in good condition and replace if necessary.
Care and maintenance of the motor should be done according to the manufacturer's
recommendations. These recommendations are supplied with the operations manual.
The engine should be run once per month for approximately half an hour. This will ensure
that the unit is functional when required for use, and will prolong the life of the engine.
7.2.3 Hydraulic Lines And Transfer Hoses
Inspect all lines and hoses for cracks and leaks. Repair or replace as required. Inspect
quick connect couplings and replace dust caps. Check that the camlock gasket is in place,
