Operation
Storage Place Choice
First of all, choose a place where the continuous bale rows will be easily accessible in all
seasons. Be aware of possible snowfall during the winter. The ground for storage should be
flat, clean, and well-drained. If necessary, mow the land or treat it with an herbicide such as
Roundup to prevent rodent infestation in winter and the serious damage they can cause to the
plastic film. If your land is on a slight slope, it is best to begin your continuous bale row at the
bottom and to climb the slope by backing up the bale wrapper. Your continuous bale row will
be more compressed and will therefore contain less air.
The storage place must also be large enough to maneuver easily with the Wraptor trailer.
Coupling to the Bale Wrapper
To make it easier to operate the trailer during wrapping, the trailer must be perfectly aligned
during coupling with the bale wrapper.
-
Move the trailer to the left.
-
Adjust the height of the anchor point, using the chain as a guide. The chain must
brush against the ground.
-
Align the trailer so that the guides of the anchor point line up with the bracket of
the bale wrapper.
-
Move forward slowly until the trailer is coupled.
You will feel the kick-back between the bracket and the anchor point when
the trailer is coupled.
-
Lower the front of the trailer several centimeters to ensure that it will remain well-
secured during wrapping.
Unloading and Wrapping
Beginning a continuously wrapped bale row:
-
Start up the bale wrapper’s engine using the remote control. Ensure that the
engine key is in ON position.
-
Operate the conveyor of the trailer. Ensure that the tractor is in neutral.
The bales are pushed onto the bale wrapper.
-
When the first bale reaches the hoop, start the hoop with the remote control.
Ensure that the plastic film covers the vertical side of the bale so that the bale row
will be well-sealed (Figure 7.1). Read the section
Hermetically Sealing a
Continuous Bale Row
.
-
When the wrapped bales reach the ground, it is possible that you will have to back
up the tractor to avoid breaking the plastic film. This operation ends when the
bales on the ground are heavy enough for the power of the conveyor alone to
move the tractor backward.
-
Completely empty the row of bales on the conveyor, the stop the hoop with the
remote control.
-
Move the pusher backward to the rear of the trailer.
-
Transfer the row of bales on the tilting table toward the conveyor.
-
Operate the conveyor and start the bale wrapper hoop just before the bales begin
to move toward the bale wrapper platform.
