9. Insert the “Ultra66 Driver” into drive CD-ROM.
10. In the “Select Hardware Type” dialog box, highlight “SCSI controllers,”
and then press “OK.”
11. In the “Select Device” dialog box, choose “Have Disk.”
12. Type “D:\driver\promise” in the text box and then press “OK.” A mes-
sage informing you that Windows has found the “Promise Technology,
Inc.,Ultra66 IDE Controller” should appear.
13. Press “OK,” and then in the next window, press “OK” again.
14. If Windows asks you whether or not you want to test if the device can be
removed safely, press “Cancel.”
15. Press “Yes” when asked if you want to restart your computer.
Windows 95 4.00.950B (OSR2)
1. Install Windows 95 normally.
2. Set you’r CD-ROM device on the (IDE1 or IDE2)connector first.
3. After installation, go to the “Start” menu and choose “Settings.”
4. From the “Settings” menu, choose “Control Panel.”
5. In the “Control Panel” window, double-click on the “System” icon.
6. In the “System” window, choose the “Device Manager”tab.
7. In the hierarchical display under “Other Devices” is a listing for“PCI Mass
Storage Controller.” Choose it and then press the“Properties” button.
8. Choose the “Driver” tab in the “Properties” window, and then press the
“Update Driver”button.
9. When asked if you want Windows to search for the driver, choose”Yes
(recommended).”
10. Insert the “Ultra66 Driver” into the CD-ROM drive, then press”Next.”
11. When Windows informs you that it was unable to find the drivers,press
“Other Locations”
12. In the “Select Other Location” dialog box, type “d:\driver\promise”.
13. Press “OK.” Windows should inform you that it has found “Promise
Technology, Inc., Ultra66 IDE Controller.”
14. Press “Finish.” (If Windows can’t find the “Ultra66.MPD” file, type”d:
\driver\promise” in the “Copy files from:” text box).
15. Choose “Yes” when asked if you wish to restart the system.
Windows 98
1. Install Windows 98 normally.
2.Set you’r CD-ROM device on the (IDE1 or IDE2)connector first.
3. After installation, go the “Start” menu and choose “Settings.”
