Snow load:
For most collector installation ap-
plications universal collector
mounting sets are available.
These systems are suitable for
most slanted or flat roofs as well
as for mounting to facades and
balcony railings.
All mounting systems are con-
structed for snow loads sk of 2,0
kN/m2.

Additional evaluations by the manufacturer are required for collector arrangements in extreme and exposed positions.
Flat roof mounting:
Our product range offers 2 different concrete elements for the mounting of solar collectors on flat roofs or level
ground:
- Concrete base long, L170 x B20 x H15 cm, 127.5 kg/pc., Article No. 50.8000 (BS-L)
- Concrete base attachment; L20 x B40 x H15cm, 30 kg/pc., Article No. 50.8001 (BS-A)
Our recommendation:
Every angular frame must be loaded with at least one BS-L (127.5 kg). These values are valid for building heights
up to approx. 12.0 m under the assumption of frontal wind flow. If wind flow is from the back separate calculations
for the additional weight loads are required.
Depending on the installation angle the „Concrete bases long“ (BS-L) may need to be loaded with additional BS-A
elements.
For 1 pc. angular frame
OWR 20 the following number of attachments (BS-A) per BS-L is required:
(These numbers are valid for collector fields with 2 collectors and more (3 angular frames and more)).
The volume flow per module is:
1.7 l/min or 102 l/h
The fluid is a ready to use, evapo-
ration proof special heat exchange
liquid on 1,2-propylene glycol ba-
sis.
Tyfocor LS is not harmful to health
and the corrosion inhibitors pro-
tect all metal materials usually
used in solar technology, including
in mixed installations.
Tyfocor LS must not be mixed with
other heat exchange fluids or dilut-
ed with water.
It is imperative that collectors that
have been already installed
must
be filled and started up within
one week
.
Disregard for this can lead to
overheating of the collectors and
cause damages.
Dimensioning of pipe diameters:
When dimensioning the solar
pipes the pressure loss formulas
generally used by heating engi-
neers are to be applied.
In installting the pipes the least
possible number of bends is to be
used (no angle pieces).
The table on page 15 references
the rates of flow, pressure losses
and presumed pipe dimensions in
the collector field.
Collector fields with more than 6
OWR 20 are not recommended.
Collector fields with more than 6
OWR 20 can be split into several
collector fields, interconnected in
parallel.
An exact pressure loss calculation
and expansion vessel calculation is
required for every single system.
The given table is not binding for a
complete installation of a solar
system.
