3-4 | 3050 AMS Moisture Analyzer
Utility Requirements
Electrical requirements
The 3050-AMS Moisture Analyzer must be installed in a general purpose
area. It does not have an On/Off power switch so power must be applied
through a circuit breaker switch at the AC source.
General Purpose installation:
Power connection can be made using the supplied power cord(s) ter-
minated with a locally approved wall socket plug, or
the analyzer can be hardwired.
Instrument air supply
• Use dry instrument air ( 70 to 100 PSI) that is free of oils and other
contaminants for valve operation. N
2
can be used as an alternate.
-
If there is any doubt about the cleanliness of the air supply, con-
nect it through oil / air separators.
• Air tubing must be fitted to a 1 /4 inch Swagelok® fitting.
Sample Temperature and Pressure Requirements
Inlet sample temperature:
0 °C to 100 °C ( 32 °F to 212 °F )
Optimum input gas temperature:
60 °C ± 5 °C ( 140 °F ± 9 °F )
For optimum performance, sample line should be heat traced to main-
tain a constant sample temperature.
Minimum input pressure:
42 kPa ( 6 PSIG )
Maximum pressure:
345 kPa ( 50 PSIG )
If necessary, a UHP pressure regulator can be installed at the main process
shut-off valve.
