Chapter 3 AMIBIOS POST

BIOS Configuration Summary Screen

The EISA AMIBIOS displays the following screen when the POST routines

are successfully completed. This screen may not appear exactly like

this, since the display depends on the memory, cache, and shadowing

options enabled in AMIBIOS Setup.

POST Memory Test

Normally, the only visible POST routine is the memory test. The screen

that appears when the system is powered on is shown below.

The first BIOS Identification String appears in the left bottom corner

of the screen. Press <Ins> to display two more Identification Strings.

Enable Wait for <F1> If any Error in ADVANCED CMOS SETUP before using

this method to freeze the screen.

Step

Action

When a problem occurs, freeze the screen by powering on the
system and holding a key down on the keyboard.

Copy the BIOS ID Strings on a sheet of paper before calling
American Megatrends technical support at 404-246-8600.

Press <F1> to continue the boot process.

Hit <DEL> if you want to run SETUP

is displayed. You can press <Del> to access AMIBIOS Setup.
