The Centaya Super (Fig. 33/A) pneumatic pack top seed drill is used as part of a seeding combination
with a soil tillage implement (Fig. 33/B) and roller (Fig. 33/C).
The seeding combination optimises soil loosening, reconsolidation, precise seed placement, uniform
placement depth, coverage of the seed, and a track-free, well-structured field after tilling. The seed is
carried in the seed hopper (Fig. 33/1).
If the tines encounter a rigid obstacle during soil tillage, the soil tillage implement can deflect upwards.
To do so, the soil tillage implement is supported on the roller and is no longer rigidly connected to it.
The Centaya can be equipped with a choice of RoTeC-Pro Control coulters or TwinTeC double disc
coulters (Fig. 33/2). The seed falls into the seed furrow prepared by the coulters. In combination with
the AMAZONE rotary cultivator or the CombiDisc compact disc harrow, mulch seeding is possible with
both coulter types.
The metered seed volume passes from the seed metering unit (Fig. 33/3) into the air stream generat-
ed by the blower fan, which is driven by an electric motor. The speed of the metering roller automati-
cally adjusts to changing working speeds. The pulses from the radar serve to measure the working
speed and the distance covered.
The air stream delivers the seed to the distributor head (Fig. 33/4), which distributes the seed uniform-
ly onto all the coulters.
The seed is covered with loose soil by the exact following harrow (Fig. 33/5).
After turning at the end of the field, the tractor driver drives in the next bout over the centre of the track
drawn by the track markers (Fig. 33/6). The track markers are attached to the soil tillage implement.
