12.7.4 Checking and readjusting the TwinTeC disc bearings
Adhere to the inspection intervals,
see section "Maintenance schedule", page 205.
12.7.4.1 Checking the TwinTeC disc bearings
The seeding discs (Fig. 271/1) touch slightly. The
disc bearings are properly adjusted if when turn-
ing one disc manually, the second disc also turns
and both discs rotate smoothly.
If the second disc is not rotated by the first, read-
just the disc bearing, see section 12.7.4.2,
page 216.
The seeding discs should have a minimum di-
ameter of 300 mm. Replace worn seeding discs
by new ones in due time, see section 12.7.4.2,
page 216.

12.7.4.2 Readjusting the TwinTeC disc bearings
With increasing wear of the seeding discs, the distance between the seeding discs also increases. To
ensure that worn seeding discs touch each other slightly again, the distance can be restored by repo-
sitioning the spacer discs:
1. Loosen all of the countersunk head screws
(Fig. 272/1) and remove the seeding disc
(Fig. 272/2).
2. Loosen the central bolt (Fig. 272/3) and re-
move the bearing housing (Fig. 272/4) with
the spacer discs (Fig. 272/5).

has a right-hand thread on the right side

has a left-hand thread on the left side.
3. Replace the O-ring (Fig. 272/6) if it is dam-
aged.
4. Remove/add spacer discs (Fig. 272/5) as required.
Push the spacer discs that are not required (Fig. 272/5) onto the central bolt (Fig. 272/3), since
the length of the threaded hole for the central bolt is limited.
5. Bolt on the bearing housing (Fig. 272/4) with the central bolt (Fig. 272/3)
(tightening torque: 100 Nm).
Please note that the central bolt can be equipped with a right-hand or left-hand thread (see
above).
