•  Write down the password on a piece of paper and store the piece of 

paper somewhere in case you forget it.

•  On unrated DVDs, playback will not be restricted even if the rating 

level is set.

•  Once set, this rating level remains in memory until changed. To 

enable the play of discs of higher rating levels or to cancel the 
parental lock, the setting must be changed.

•  Not all DVDs provide a Parental Lock feature. If you are 

unsure about a DVD, play it fi rst to confi rm. Do not leave 
DVDs accessible to young children for whom you deem them 
inappropriate.

 

Tips

•  Changing the rating level temporarily
 

Some discs may request that you change the rating level set 
in the default settings during playback. In this case, the 
message appears on the monitor screen “PARENTAL LEVEL 
CHANGE OK?”

•  To change parental level and play, press ENT.
•  To play without changing the parental level, press 

.

 (When 

n

 is pressed, playback will be at the parental level 

set with “Setting the Rating Level (Parental Lock).”)

Playing back a Main Story directly

This function skips warnings, precautions, etc., initially displayed 
when you play back a DVD, and goes straight to the main Story.

Setting item: MAIN STORY
Setting contents: OFF (Initial setting) / ON

If you want to play back the main Story directly, set to ON.

•  The function may not be available depending on the disc.

Setting the Rating Level (Parental Lock)

You can automatically select the buttons displayed on the top 
menu/menu image screen by setting time (seconds) without setting 
manually.

Setting item: AUTO DVD MENU
Setting contents: OFF (Initial setting) / SET TIME (1~15 sec)

SET TIME: Set your desired duration (1 to 15 seconds) 

using the numeric keypad. After the set time has 
passed, the buttons are automatically selected. 
(For example, if 8 seconds is set, press 8, and 
then press ENT.)

SYSTEM SETUP 

•  When settings are changed, old settings are overwritten. Make a 

note of the current settings before making changes. The settings 
are not cleared even when the vehicle’s battery is disconnected.

Switching the Background Colour

You can select the background colours from 2 types preset or colour 
4 types.

Setting item: BACK PICTURE
Setting contents: TYPE-1 (Initial setting) / TYPE-2 / COLOR 

 COLOR 

 BLACK / GRAY / BLUE / GREEN

Setting the Country Code

Set the country code when setting the rating level (Parental lock).

Setting item: PARENTAL 

 PASSWORD 

 COUNTRY CODE

Setting contents: AUTO / OTHERS

AUTO: The country code memorized in the disc is set.
OTHERS: Select this if the desired country code is input.

To change the Country Code:

Use the numeric keypad ("0" to "9") to input the 4-digit 
country code, then press 

ENT

Example: Germany "6869" is input.

•  If the input code is wrong, “CODE ERROR” is displayed and the 

unit returns to the setup display again.

•  For the country codes, refer to “List of Country Codes” (pages 30 

and 31).

•  One digit can be erased at a time each time CLR is pressed. 

Pressing and holding CLR for at least 2 seconds will delete all 
digits.

• Press 

RETURN to return to the previous screen.

Setting the Rating Level (Parental Lock)

Use this function to restrict the viewing of movies to children of 
appropriate age levels only.

Setting item: PARENTAL

Setting contents: OFF (Initial setting) / 8~1

•  If the password is wrong, the unit returns to the SETUP display.

The lower the number, the higher the rating level.
