For the local test optimization the two operators have to move along the link nodes route,
as in the following example:
•
They must be able to perform the local tests on all nodes;
•
They must be able to perform the single span attenuation respecting the design project
document;
•
They must be able to perform the link tests.
Looking at the example link shown in Figure 3-8 , the commissioning steps examples are
described in the following:

The operator A performs the local tests on the Terminal-A.
The operator B performs the local tests on ROADM/ILA-A/B.
The operators jointly perform the span I attenuation test.

At the end of link tests it is necessary to come back on all nodes for all the link test
presettings removal, if performed, and restore all the node settings according to initial
configuration.
The available DWDM circuits packs are listed in Table 3-6, “SONET/SONET, data, and
WDM cards connection points” (p. 3-6) .
