3.1.7 Attach primary guy ropes to mast
1)
When the mast has reached the „first stop‟ position, the second operator may secure
the primary guy ropes.
2)
There are four primary guy ropes used to secure the top of the bottom mast section to
the mounting platform.
3)
The primary guy rope at the back of the antenna is built into the enclosure and is
permanently installed. It does not need any attention.
4)
The three other primary guy ropes, one to the front and one on each side of the antenna
need to be secured by hand at this point.
5)
The primary guy ropes to the front and sides are secured via the carabiner clips on the
ends of the guy ropes to the corresponding eye-bolts on the collar at the top of the
bottom mast section. (Note that typically these guy ropes can be left secured to the
mast in this fashion even when the mast is stowed in the enclosure for ease of access
and to speed up deployment)
3.1.8 Attach auxiliary equipment (optional)
1)
An optional clip-on bracket may have been supplied that is attached to the top of the
mast.
2)
The clip-on bracket is secured to the top of the mast using the spring loaded catch on
the bracket itself.
3)
This bracket allows auxiliary antennas and equipment (e.g. cameras) to be clamped to
the top of the mast for other purposes.
4)
Whilst the mast is at the „first stop‟ position, this equipment can be secured to the
mast.
3.1.9 Attach secondary guy ropes to mast (optional)
1)
The longer secondary guy ropes can now be secured to the rings provided at the top of
the mast.
2)
The secondary guy ropes should be neatly arranged and guided by the operators to
ensure they do not get entangled in the antenna whilst it is being hoisted in the vertical
position and during mast extension.
3)
The secondary guy ropes should not be tightened or secured to the pegs yet.
