loop-tearing has reduced to almost zero by using
this product.
There is no doubt that both the loop and washer
working together as a system have certainly made
parachuting much safer, quite apart from CYPRES
itself.
Since the system was introduced to the parachuting
scene in 1992, approximately 1,010,000 disks and
around 4,000,000 loops have been manufactured
by Airtec and given to rig manufacturers, riggers
and packers around the world to improve safety.
These days you are unlikely to find a rig worldwide
with a reserve container that is not closed using the
CYPRES reserve closing loop system.
In addition to achieving its technical purpose inside
the reserve container, this CYPRES closing loop
system has another advantage: It reduces the neces-
sary pull force on the reserve ripcord handle by up
to 50%. This is a huge help for all those skydivers
who, for one reason or another, have difficulties
with the pull force.
