Disposal
13 Disposal
At the end of their life cycle AIR TORQUE actuators can be
completely disassembled and disposed sorting the compo-
nents by the different materials.
Î Observe local, national and international refuse regula-
tions.
All materials have been selected in order to ensure minimal
environmental impact, health and safety of personnel during
their installation and maintenance, provided that, during use,
they are not contaminated by hazardous substances.
Oil, grease and electric components may require special tre-
atment before disposal.
Î
Contact waste management companies and/or local au-
thorities.
Risk of personal injury due to preloaded and compressed
springs.
End caps are under tension due to compressed springs.
Furthermore incorrect spring cartidges disassembly could re-
sult in serious injury.

Before starting any work on the actuator disconnect all
pneumatic / hydraulic / electrical supplies and discharge
the pressure from the actuator.
Î
Make sure that the actuator is in the closed position (0°).
Î
Do not disassemble individual spring cartridges.
Î
For spring cartidges service contact AIR TORQUE.
The disposal is to be performed by fully trained and qualified
personnel only.

Decomission and remove the actuator (refer to section 10
‘Decomissioning‘ and section 11 ‘Removal‘).

Create a large area around the actuator in order to work
in safe conditions without obstacles that can interfere with
the disposal operation.

Dismantle the actuator sorting the components by the dif-
ferent materials.
