Menu Power Supply
Power for the measuring instrument is usually
supplied by three AA battery cells - normally re-
chargeable - or alternatively standard batteries.
The
power supply
menu provides an estimation
of the battery’s remaining operating time in the
form of a current voltage display. At 3.5V the bat-
tery symbol in the status bar starts to flash and
at 3.1V the device switches off automatically.
The current charge status cannot be displayed
more exactly than this because of the different
types of battery cell available.
Sensor voltage
To power the sensors there is a choice of 3 sen-
sor voltages available, approx. 6, 9, or 12 V. The necessary sensor voltage is
determined automatically by the highest programmable <minimum sensor sup-
ply voltage> over all measuring points is also adjustable (standard 9V battery,
mains 12V) .
Display and setting of the sensor voltage
Sensor voltage, setpoint 9.0V
Display of the actual sensor voltage
Sensor voltage, actual 9.1 V
If
a
mains
adapter
is
connected,
the sensor voltage will always be 12 volts.
Mains adapter 12.0 V
The maximum admissible current is also displayed.
Max. admissible current 1.0 A
Battery recharge
The batteries can be recharged quickly and easily at any time using a mains
adapter (12V, minimum 1.5A) - irrespective of their current charge status. Using
mains adapter ZA 1312-NAx (1,5 A) charging 2000-mA batteries lasts up to 3
hours; higher capacities will take correspondingly longer.
If rechargeable batteries are recognized the display shows
Rech. batteries Ø
The rechargeable battery capacity must be programmed
Capacity 2000 mAh
In charging mode the charge status is displayed
Charging mode Charge
The charging current is set automatically
Charging current 0.68 A
As soon as the battery is fully charged
Charging mode fully
When the mains adapter is connected, the battery symbol appears in the status
bar of the measured value display and the level indicator runs continually from
empty to full. The device switched off but the display shows the input menu and
the battery symbol being filled; as soon as the mains adapter is disconnected,
this display goes out again.
Change of rechargeable battery or batteries
When using new batteries are needed for devices to Oct. 2011 (Serial No.: 1110
...) make sure that the batteries are coded (1 cm stripped), so that they have
identified and charged. From Nov. 2011, the charging circuit automatically de-
tects whether batteries are inserted. After a brief attempt at charging batteries
