6.4.7 Averaging over several measuring points
To determine the average value over several measuring points from Mb2 to
Mb1 at the same time, function channel ´M(n)´ is available. By programming
this function channel (e.g. as 2nd channel in the 3rd connector, measuring point
M12 in connector M2) one obtains the average value for all three measured va-
lues (from M00 to M02) because by default measuring point M00 is used as re-
ference channel Mb2 and the first measuring point in the connector of the
function channel is used as reference channel Mb1. For this purpose avera-
ging mode is not necessary.
6.5 Measured value memory (option S)
Measuring instrument ALMEMO 2390-5 is also available with the option “S” as
a data logger. The basic information on saving data in ALMEMO
®
devices is
provided in the Manual, Section 6.9. The internal data memory on the ALME-
MO 2390-5 is a 32-KB EEPROM with capacity sufficient for 3700 to 6000 mea-
sured values (depending on the channel number). In the event of a failure in
the supply voltage the measured data is retained; only the time-of-day is lost.
The EEPROM can be configured either as linear memory or ring memory; (see
Manual, Section 6.10.13.2).
Memory capacity display
If your measuring instrument has the data logger option (OA 2390-5S), you can,
by pressing the FUNCTION key, select the Memory free function ´MF´ and see
the remaining memory capacity in kilobytes. If the memory is full, the display
will read 0.0; if the memory is configured in linear form, no further measured va-
lues will be saved; if it is configured as a ring memory, old values will be over-
written by new.

You can, by activating the memory time function ´

memory capacity (see above) has available for recording measured data. This
time depends not only on the memory capacity but also on the number of mea-
suring channels, on the cycle, and even, in certain operating modes, on the
conversion rate.

PROM memory connectors ZA 1904-SS with capacities of 128 KB or 256 KB
(25000 or 50000 measured values). These memories do not need a battery to
