05 - HANDLING

AND INST

ALLA

TION

CAUTION!
The drive shaft must work at the minimum possible angle.
This will not only extend working life of the drive shaft, but also the fertilizer spreader
transmission components.

IMPORTANT!
Replace any missing or damaged parts of the drive shaft with original spare parts supplied by
the drive shaft manufacturer. The drive shaft can only be repaired at an authorised workshop.

WARNING!
Once uncoupled, place the drive shaft in the support provided, to protect it against damage and
prevent dirt from entering.
Never attach the uncoupled drive shaft using the support chain

5.2.2.1. DRIVE SHAFT CONNECTION

DANGER!
Danger of crushing and collision due to insufficient space when connecting the drive shaft!

First connect the drive shaft to the tractor and only then connect the machine to the tractor. This will create
enough space to guarantee safe connection of the drive shaft.

1.  Move the tractor towards the machine, leaving a free space (around 40/50 cm) between the tractor and the

machine.

2.  Make sure the tractor cannot be started or moved accidentally.

3.  Check that the tractor power take-off is disengaged.

4.  Clean and grease the power take-off on the tractor.

5.  Insert the coupling on the drive shaft into the tractor power take-off until it clicks into place. When connecting the

drive shaft, refer to the user manual supplied with the drive shaft and verify the admissible operating conditions
for the tractor power take-off.

6.  Block the safety device on the drive shaft using the support chain so as to prevent it from rotating.

Make sure

the support chains do not get caught in any parts of the tractor or the machine.

7.  Check that there is enough free space around the drive shaft in all operating conditions: insufficient space will

lead to damage to the drive shaft.
