Safety measures
s¬ Specific training in accordance with requirements in force on occupational health and safety and the use of dangerous equipment;
good mental and physical condition and suitability for the task.
s¬ Read the technical and safety datasheets for the products to be spread and the detergents used.
s¬ Use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as specified in the company’s risks assessment document.
s¬ Apply safe conditions in accordance with safety procedures, taking into account other environmental risk factors.
Safety procedures
s¬ Make sure a colleague or assistant with specific first aid and emergency training is on hand, at a safe distance.
s¬ Switch off the tractor’s engine, remove the keys from the ignition and hide them.
s¬ Engage the parking brakes on the tractor and the machine; (pull the hand brake suitably).
s¬ Carefully position the chocks and/or stabilisers if the ground or flooring is uneven or deteriorated.
s¬ All operations must be performed outdoors and not in enclosed spaces.
s¬ Make sure there are no residues of spread product; this is very important, as for certain products, water and/or detergents
may generate dangerous chemical reactions that can cause irritation to the skin and the respiratory tracts, asphyxia, fires or
explosions.
s¬ When using detergents, the environment must be protected; the runoff water must be collected and purified or disposed of in
accordance with local regulations.
s¬ Before starting cleaning and washing, carefully read the technical and safety datasheets for the products to be spread and the
detergents used, so as to exclude even the slightest possibility of chemical reaction (base + acid = explosion !!)
s¬ If using high pressure washers, carefully read the appliance’s operating instructions; special jets, for example turbo jets, must not
be used. Keep the washer jet at least 30 cm away from the machine’s components. The water temperature must not exceed 50°C.
s¬ Never let water enter the controls nor aim the jet of water at electrical equipment, connectors, insulators, bearings and gaskets.
s¬ Use low pressure and always aim the jet of water diagonally at the machine’s components.
CAUTION!
For certain products that are spread, water and/or detergents may generate dangerous chemical
reactions that can cause irritation to the skin and the respiratory tracts, asphyxia, fires or
explosions.
After washing greasing and lubrication points, when these have dried replace the grease or lubricant.
Using compressed air to remove dirt must also be done carefully, so as to avoid damage to the machine’s components and above all
materials being blown off at high speed.
