AIC Revision B Installation and Configuration

Test the AIC

1.

From a client PC, start the data system software. In the main
window, select

File

followed by

New

and then click

Instrument

.

2.

Select

File

followed by

Configure

and then select

Instrument

.

3.

In the dialog that appears, click the button next to

Server

Name

. Ensure that you can browse to and select the AIC. If not,

the AIC is not logged properly onto the network and you need to
check the instructions from

Setup IP Address

to

4.

Type an

Instrument Name

and then select an

Instrument Type

that corresponds with one of the instruments you have
connected to the AIC. Click

Configure

.

5.

Complete the configuration of the instrument according to the
instructions for the type of instrument hardware you have.
These instructions are found in the online help for that
instrument control option.

6.

After you have finished the instrument configuration, double
click on the instrument icon you just created to connect the data
system to the hardware. If you get an error connecting to the
AIC, check the instructions from

Run DCOMServerSettings

through

Data System Enterprise Settings

7.

Perform a test acquisition, following the instructions
appropriate to your instrument hardware.

8.

Your AIC is now ready to use. Unplug the keyboard, mouse and
monitor from the AIC.

Notes

Please review the following notes regarding use of the Agilent
Instrument Controller.



Before the addition or removal of a USB component, please
turn off the AIC, unless otherwise instructed.
