ASSEMBLY
ROLLER GANG - MAIN FRAME
Before the front roller gang assembly is bolted to the
main frame structure, the two (41-0025) transport
level mounting springs must be pre-positioned on
the 4” x 4” cross tube of the framework. (Mounting
springs and hardware are packed in the transport
level bundle, 41003X).
Raise the front roller gang assembly to the frame, or,
lower the frame to the gang assembly. Starting at
the center, install the 7/8” u-bolts being certain the 6”
x 4” gang tube is centered on the framework. A lift
truck or overhead hoist is required to accomplish this
assembly.
Check to see if scraper bar brackets are toward the
rear of the machine, then center and install the rear
roller gang assembly as described for the front.
IMPORTANT:
When installing roller gangs on the
mulcher frame, be sure the grease fittings point to
the rear of the machine. This will insure that the
bearing lock collars will function properly and not
loosen during field operation.
After both roller gang assemblies and the transport
axle are positioned and aligned to the framework, all
the attaching hardware should be tightened. This
would include the 7/8” u-bolts, 3/4”-10 UNC x 6”
bolts on transport axle bearings, etc. See hardware
torque chart on page 8.
