When the sensor output is inactive, the voltage at the output is 0 volts.
Voltage measurements of the sensors
In the event of a fault occurring in any of
the sensor circuits an error message will be
displayed on WGA 01 D indicating which
sensor output is detecting an error. The
output voltage to the sensor in question
can be measured in order to check what is
wrong.
Sensors are scanned in the following se-
quence, and sensors can only be checked
when the are active: Sensor 1 (layer sensor
WGA-ES4 ) active in 4 sec -> sensor 2
(thermistor sensor WGA-R6-S) active in 45
sec -> sensor 3 (sludge sensor WGA-ES8)
active in 4 sec. This sequence is repeated
continuously.
When the WGA 01 D alarm unit is connec-
ted to intrinsically safe circuits that enter an
area with a potentially explosive atmosphe-
re, extreme care should be taken when
performing fault diagnostics on a live alarm
unit. The only live parts in the unit that may
be touched (with a tool or instrument) are
connections on intrinsically safe terminal
block K3. Only measuring instruments that
do not have a detrimental effect on the in-
trinsically safe characteristics may be used.
EN 60079-17 must be adhered to during
fault diagnostics/maintenance.
Note:
Measure the voltage and use a
multimeter showing decimals in order to
measure the difference in voltage.
The illustration below shows an example
for connection for troubleshooting of sen-

Terminals 1, 2 and 3 and + feed to sensor
and Terminal G is the relevant output feed.
