2.2.8 Programming of the gantry axis
WARNING
The gantry axis should be started up in set-up or jog mode.
Incorrect programming can trigger uncontrolled movements of
the gantry axis. Fast or unintentional movements of the gantry
axis with attached modules can result in injuries or death and
damage to property.
Ensure that the safety fence is closed and that
there are no persons or loose workpieces and objects in the work
area of the gantry axis.
The owner is responsible for this!
The programming is different, depending on the controller used. Observe the
respective manuals of the controller provider.
If the Afag SE-Power control system is used, please observe the Montage
Instructions which are supplied together with the control system.

NOTE
If wrong basic data are input at the PLC, the gantry axis can move
unhindered against the stopper so that persons can be injured by
parts flying around.
In the case of a failure of the displacement measurement system or
a defective limit switch cable, the gantry axis can execute
unexpected movements. Persons working on the system could thus
be injured.
CAUTION
It is the responsibility of the system manufacturer to ensure that
the system is protected with a safety fence so that persons are
not injured during operation.
