3.1.6 Module description and construction

 

The  gantry  axes  function  according  to  the  slide  principle,  i.e.  the  carriage  moves 
linearly opposite to a rigid drive unit (axis). 

The drive unit with mounting flange (7), gearbox (3) and motor (4) is rigidly mounted 
and thus is not included in the moving mass of the system. 

The  system  consists of  an  axis  (1),  the  carriage  (2),  the  gearbox  (3)  and  the  motor 
(4). 

The carriage (2) has one PEZ linear guides (5). The belt (6) is inside the axis (1). The 
toothed belt guide pulleys (8) are at the axis end pieces. The toothed belt is clamped 
under the carriage. The clamping devices (9) are also located here.  

Planetary or angular gears of different accuracy classes can optionally be fitted. The 
drive shaft is connected to the guide pulley free of play by a clamping set (10). The 
reference  switch  is  an  inductive  sensor  which  recognises  the  zero  position  of  the
