2.2.2 ATS GUI (Instrument) Menu Buttons
A Virtual Instrument must have been selected through the ATS GUI T oolbar prior to
using the (Instrument) Menu. If no instrument has been selected, a popup appears
instructing the user to "P lease make a selection of the instrument window".

Save As Default bu tton:
When selected, saves the instrument control settings into a default.x file where x will be
the instrument name (i.e default.adf1) . This file is loaded when the instrument (i.e ADF -
1) is first opened.
Setti ngs b utton:
When selected, a fly up menu appears, pr oviding for loading or saving settings of the
instrument. Selection of ei ther of these buttons pops up a standard Windows Explorer
window, defaulted to the installation director y of the Avionics T est Studio applic ation
program. A previously saved setting file can then be loaded (Open) or the settings can
be Saved with a user assigned name. (i.e. ADF_test_1.adf1). The file type will
automatically be set for the instrument selection:
Reset b utton:
When selected, a fly up menu appears, pr ovidi ng for resetting the instrument to its
default settings (Reset All) including the Ident settings if applicable, or, in the case of
instruments with IDENT settings, the ability to reset ONLY the Ident setting is av ailable.
An error message that "This function is not supported in this mode" appears if this
button is selected and the instrum ent does not have an Ident function.
