COME FUNZIONA LA POMPA DI CALORE
PRERISCALDAMENTO
Quando il condizionatore funziona in riscaldamento, il ven-
tilatore dell’unità interna, dopo l’accensione, resta fermo
per alcuni minuti (da 2 a 5).
Lo stesso può accadere nel funzionamento continuativo.
In questo modo si evitano correnti di aria “fredda” finché lo
scambiatore di calore interno non raggiunge una temperatu-
ra sufficientemente alta.
SBRINAMENTO
Quando il condizionatore funziona in riscaldamento la bat-
teria dell’unità esterna, durante il funzionamento, accumula
sulla sua superficie della brina che impedisce un efficiente
scambio termico. Tale brina deve essere periodicamente
rimossa per consentire un corretto funzionamento e il
migliore apporto di calore all’ambiente da riscaldare.
– Il microprocessore controlla questa operazione attraverso
il cosiddetto “ciclo di sbrinamento”, durante il quale la
brina viene sciolta e rimossa.
– Il ciclo di sbrinamento dura da 2 a 10 minuti (in relazione
alle condizioni esterne) e durante il ciclo entrambi i venti-
latori esterno ed interno restano fermi.
– Il condizionatore, terminato il ciclo di sbrinamento
riprende automaticamente a funzionare in riscaldamento.
EFFICIENZA DEL RISCALDAMENTO
Il riscaldamento “a pompa di calore” avviene mediante
inversione del ciclo frigorifero. Vengono cioè invertiti i ruoli
degli scambiatori interno ed esterno:
– nel funzionamento in raffreddamento lo scambiatore
interno sottrae calore dall’ambiente e, attraverso il circui-
to frigorifero, lo trasmette allo scambiatore esterno che
provvede a smaltirlo nell’aria;
– nel funzionamento a pompa di calore è lo scambiatore
esterno che sottrae calore all’aria e, sempre attraverso il
circuito frigorifero, lo fornisce allo scambiatore interno,
che lo cede all’aria della stanza da riscaldare.
La potenza termica fornita all’ambiente da riscaldare e la
potenza elettrica assorbita dal condizionatore variano note-
volmente al variare della temperatura e dell’umidità relativa
esterna. Il rapporto tra la potenza termica fornita e la poten-
za elettrica assorbita esprime l’efficienza di funzionamento.
Le unità sono in grado di funzionare con temperatura ester-
na fino a -10 °C. A temperature così basse, però, la potenza
fornita risulterà molto ridotta e sarà quindi necessario ricor-
rere ad altri tipi di riscaldamento per integrare o sostituire la
pompa di calore.
HEAT PUMP OPERATION
PREHEATING
When the air conditioner set on heating mode is switched
on, the indoor unit fan remains off for few minutes (2 to 5).
The same may happen during continuous operation.
In this way cold streams are avoided until the indoor
exchanger reaches a sufficiently high temperature.
DEFROSTING
When the air conditioner works on heating mode, some
condensate frosts on the exchanger surface and prevents an
efficient heat exchange.
The frost must be removed from time to time to perform a
proper operation and delivery of heat to the room.
– The microprocessor controls this operation through the
“defrosting cycle” during which the frost is removed.
– The defrosting cycle lasts 2 to 10 minutes (depending on
ambient conditions) and during the cycle both indoor and
outdoor fans are cut off.
– The air conditioner starts again automatically on heating
mode when the defrosting cycle is finished.
HEATING EFFICIENCY
Heat pump heating is performed through reverse cycle. It
means that the heat exchangers work the other way round.
– On cooling mode the indoor heat exchanger takes the
heat of the room and throws it away through the cooling
circuit to the outdoor exchanger.
– On heat pump heating mode the outdoor exchanger takes
the heat of the air and transmits it to the room through the
indoor exchanger.
The heating capacity supplied to the room and the electric
power consumption depend on the temperature changes
and on the relative humidity. The ratio between delivered
capacity and power consumption expresses the heating effi-
ciency.
The air conditioners can operate with ambient temperature
down to -10 °C. Under these conditions however the delive-
red capacity is smaller and it will become necessary to use
other heating systems to integrate or replace the heat pump.
