9.1.2.5.3.
NMEA Checksum „CS“
The checksum „CS“ will be displayed as 2-character-hexadecimal value. It is calculated as a XOR op-
eration of all signs of the data set between “$” and “*”. This means “$” and “*” will not enter into the cal-
culation.
<CR>...carriage return (hex0D),
<LF>... linefeed (hex 0A)
9.2. Protocol rain[e]
The rain[e] uses in connection with the met[LOG] two protocols:
•
Talker-Protocol
•
SDI-12 on RS485
9.2.1. Talker-Protocol rain[e]
Is the talker-protocol activated the rain[e] sends via the RS485 interface an ASCII-string in a with the
rain[e] commander adjustable time interval between 10 and 60 s (standard setting=10 seconds) (see
also rain[e] manual).
In the sent ASCII-string are located the measuring values:
•
Intensity in mm/min
•
Total quantity in mm
•
Status of the heating (1 = ON, 0 = OFF)
•
Internal housing temperature in °C
•
System status
9.2.2. SDI-12 on RS485 – rain[e]
Alternatively, the communication with the rain[e] can take place via SDI-12 commands. The communi-
cation with the help of the SDI-12 protocol takes place deviating from the „SDI-12 A Serial- Digital In-
terface Standard for Microprocessor-Based Sensors, Version 1.3, 2012“ via the RS485-interface.
With this protocol the following measuring values and data can be called of via the met[LOG]:
•
Precipitation intensity of the last-minute mm/min
•
Precipitation amount since the last call off mm/m²
•
Temperature interior °C
•
Heating ON (1) / OFF (0)
•
Total heating capacity %
•
Error states:
o
Error exceedance of 10 °C at heating ON
0 or 1
o
Error heating
0 or 1
o
Error temperature sensors in the interior
0 or 1
o
Error temperature sensor at the funnel
0 or 1
9.3. Analogue Sensors
For the connection of the analogue sensors are 4 analogue inputs available. The input can measure
0…10 V with 12 bit (16bit ADU). Additionally, the input can be used as digital input. Basically, it is pos-
sible to connect the sensors with an active status signal (voltage). It is also possible to connect sen-
sors with an open collector (OC) or a switch contact (relay) for which, depending on the configuration,
the supply voltage can be switched as a “switching voltage” on the digital inputs.
Moreover, the met[LOG] has got the possibility to measure temperatures with the help of a NTC.
9.3.1. Sensors with voltage output
The sensors with voltage output will be measured and stored according to their scaling.
9.3.2. Sensors with a status output
Sensors with a status output can be e.g. a rain detector (rain yes/no) or a sunshine duration sensor
(sun yes/no).
Normally the sensors deliver the status as an OC, a switch contact and/or as an active voltage signal
(e.g. no (0) = 0 V and yes (1) = 5 V) (the thresholds can be configured correspondingly).
