Top, Side, Full, or Custom [Bottom line]
2. If the bottom line of the display screen does not show the desired frequency band
(that is, Top, Side, Full or Custom), then hold down the
Display Mode
button for
approximately 5 seconds. The bottom line will change to the next frequency
setting. Repeat this step until you cycle to the desired frequency setting. By simply
displaying the desired frequency in the bottom line, you have set the frequency for
that band.
3. After setting the frequency band, return to MODE 1 to monitor the operation of
the HFV generator. Press the
Display Mode
button repeatedly until the top line
of the screen displays the current forward and reflected power and the bottom line
displays the set point power and output frequency. Your display screen should
look something like:

NORMAL OPERATION
You can operate the HFV generator either as a center frequency generator or as a
variable frequency generator where the operating frequency is automatically tuned, or
continually adjusted, by direct digital synthesis (DDS) to minimize reflected power
and enable higher output powers.
Automatic tuning mode continuously minimizes the mismatch to the generator. This
mode is only available while in forward power regulation mode. In load power
regulation, an initial frequency sweep is performed to determine the frequency that
yields the minimum reflected power.
Center Frequency Mode
Center frequency
mode sets the output frequency to the center of the frequency band
that is selected. This mode is used only to optimize settings on some systems during
initial setup.
