COMMUNICATION

General Information

The Vista 10 UK has the capability to transmit in one of two formats to a central
station digital receiver.  These formats are:-

1.

Ademco high speed (standard UK high speed format).

2.

Ademco contact ID format (point ID).

In the standard high speed format it is usual in the UK to assign channels to the alarm
types, eg:-

-

Channel 1 is normally assigned for fire alarm conditions

-

Channel 2 is normally assigned for personal attack (panic) alarm
conditions

-

Channel 3 is normally assigned to intruder alarm (burglary)

-

Channel 4 is normally assigned for open/close signal reports

In the Vista 10 UK additional channels may be assigned as follows:-

-

Channel 5 reports tamper conditions in the disarmed state

-

Channel 6 reports troubles

-

Channel 7 reports an attempt to access programming mode

-

Channel 8 will report the open/close of the partitioned area

-

Channel 9 will report low battery and test

All the above channel reporting may be enabled/disabled for each zone. The chan-
nels are pre-assigned as type 3 and only require changing if a different report or no
reporting of a zone is required.

Besides reporting an alarm, a restore report may also be sent for each channel.

In Ademco contact ID format, the channels must be assigned in the same manner but
the message sent to the receiver is not sent as a channel, but as a unique message
type.

The Vista 10 UK does not require a pre-programmed PROM. Account codes, tel-
ephone numbers and other communication parameters are programmed into, and
stored in, the main memory.

In addition to alarm communication, the Vista 10 UK may communicate with a
downloader computer, where system programming and information may be uploaded
and downloaded.

Installation

Before connecting the telephone wiring, ensure the system has been correctly in-
stalled as detailed herein, and the cable routing has been strictly observed.

Remove the connection to the AC supply by switching off at the external fuse spur
or the circuit isolator.  Remove the control cabinet cover by unscrewing the two
captive top fixing screws opening slightly and lift off.  Check the mains indicator on
